Speaking at the FT Weekend Festival - 4th September, 2020
Financial Times Weekend hosted their annual festival at the beginning of September. As opposed to the scenic setting of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath, this year the three day event took place via zoom.
This was a tweet from the Financial Times, during the session I was speaking in:
I appeared in a session on Friday morning.
In my comments:
- I focused on the outlook for the economy and policy environment. In the wake of the global financial crisis we witnessed unconventional monetary policy. Now, as a result of this Covid-19 crisis, we are seeing unconventional fiscal policy, with global public debt at an all-time high.
- I then talked about what may change and what might not change as a result of this crisis.
- and then my comments finished by talking about the economic and investment implications.
There was also a Q&A session.
